About this exit device
Exit devices (panic bars) let anyone leave with a single push on the bar, which is why building codes require them on many assembly, school and commercial egress doors. The device type sets how the door latches: a rim device latches to a strike on the frame, surface vertical rod (SVR) and concealed vertical rod (CVR) devices latch at the top and bottom of the door, and a mortise device uses a lock body set into the door edge. Outside access depends on the trim you pair with it.

Do I need fire exit hardware?
Doors that are fire rated need fire exit hardware (usually marked with an F in the model number), which has no mechanical dogging. Check the label on the door and frame, or ask us.
Does it come with outside trim?
Exit devices are often sold without trim so you can choose the outside function. Check the specifications on this page or call us to match a lever, pull or cylinder trim.
