About this electric strike
An electric strike replaces the standard strike in the door frame so an access control system, keypad or push button can release the door while the lock stays in place. Fail safe or fail secure?
Fail secure keeps the door locked from outside during a power loss, and free egress still comes from the lock's inside lever. Fail safe unlocks without power and is used where code requires the door to release. Your local code and installer decide.
