Ives FS497 US10B Auto Door Stop and Holder
Ives model FS497 US10B is an auto door stop and holder, finished in Oil-Rubbed Bronze (613/US10B).
About this door stop or holder
Overhead stops, holders and floor or wall stops keep a door from swinging too far and damaging the wall, frame or hardware, and hold-open versions keep it open when needed. Magnetic holders release the door when the fire alarm signals so fire doors still close.

Questions and answers
Stop only or hold open?
Stop-only models limit how far the door opens. Hold-open models also keep it open at a set point. Fire-rated doors usually can't use a mechanical hold open; use a magnetic holder tied to the fire alarm instead.
