Von Duprin model QEL9927EO-F 4 26D is a quiet electronic latch retraction, finished in Satin Chrome (626/US26D). This version: Surface Vertical Rod Device, Exit Only, Less Trim. Quiet electronic latch retraction (QEL) retracts the latch with a motor instead of a loud solenoid, so the door can be unlatched remotely and quietly.
About this exit device
Exit devices (panic bars) let anyone leave with a single push on the bar, which is why building codes require them on many assembly, school and commercial egress doors. The device type sets how the door latches: a rim device latches to a strike on the frame, surface vertical rod (SVR) and concealed vertical rod (CVR) devices latch at the top and bottom of the door, and a mortise device uses a lock body set into the door edge. Outside access depends on the trim you pair with it.
